What is Overbooked Blog?

At its core, Overbooked Blog is an all-in-one space to refresh on your favorite books and find your next great read. Whether you want to skim through a recap so you stop forgetting the plot, or you just want to understand the hype of a certain book or series, I’ve got you covered. The goal is to create a space to help people decide if they want to read certain books and to provide a wide selection of detailed book summaries.

What is an R&R Post?

My Review and Recap, or R&R, posts are where I share the bulk of my content. Within each R&R post, I include:

  • a Non-Spoiler Review
  • Content Warnings (when applicable)
  • Spice breakdown and denoted page numbers for closed-door modifications (when applicable)
  • a handcrafted playlist to fit the vibe of the book or series
  • and a complete, detailed summary, or recap, of the entire book and its major plot points

I also like to include little sections at beginning such as “who should read this book” and “perfect if you like…” I want to help you understand the vibe of the book and what you’re getting into so you can gauge whether you want to read it.

Sidenote about my Reviews

I try to give my reviews, particularly my non-spoiler reviews, to you in an informative way. Just because I may not like a book does not mean I won’t recommend it to someone. We all have different reading tastes and my goal is to help YOU find what YOU might like. It’s okay if we disagree!

I want my reviews to feel like I’m talking to a friend who’s thinking about picking up the book from the library. I’ll give you my honest thoughts and opinions, and tell you who I think would enjoy the book and who I would generally recommend it to.

All in All

I read across a multitude of genres including fantasy, romance, classics, thrillers, mystery, and occasionally, some non-fiction. I am doing my best to coordinate my R&R post releases with new film adaptations and book releases. Some of the biggest ones coming up include: Shatter Me, ACOTAR and the Maasverse, and the Hunger Games before Sunrise on the Reaping comes out in theaters in November. Ultimately, I just want this website to serve as a library for you to find detailed book recaps. But that might take me a little time since I only started earlier this year and the list of books I want to R&R is already over 100 (if you’d like to influence my list submit a recap request here!). So stick around for the journey. Join me as I learn how to build a website and let’s find your next favorite read together. Welcome to my literary corner. I’m so happy you’re here!
